Just A Quick Update

The song said "It started with a kiss"...well my week "started with a bang"...literally...Monday morning, 6am...it was the loudest clap of thunder I can remember hearing...wondered what on earth was happening!! LOL  Not the  best way to wake up I might add.   All's calmed down now though, the weather's been cold but dry here since...today its really grey out there though.

Had our Spanish lesson Tuesday evening and was informed that the village Mayor had agreed with Luis, our Spanish teacher, to pay for us to have a little Christmas party next week instead of our usual lesson.  Was really surprised he'd agreed to pay for it...it will include Luis' Spanish and English pupils...will be interesting...looking forward to it.

Since Tuesday both myself and OH have had this 'fluey type' cold that's been doing the rounds here...why is it that a simple cold can make you feel so yuk and miserable. LOL  One thing to be grateful for is that we shouldn't be feeling like this over the Christmas festivities!!  Hopefully we wont anyway!!

Will upload a couple of things over the next couple of days.....so until then I'll say bye for now.

Hi

Well the weekend is almost over...feeling a wee bit tired at the minute, had another one of my "cant get to sleep" nights last night...and its certainly true the more you "stress" about it the more you keep yourself awake.  It must be everything that's going around in my head at the minute...I don't know, but I don't like it though...its not one of my favourite situations to be in so to speak!!

We had our normal bowling practice this afternoon and I was as near to rubbish as you can get.  lol   Actually that's a slight exaggeration I must admit...but I cant say I was on top form either...the best part of it was going out for Sunday lunch afterwards...thats the bit I do best!!  lol

I've finally finished the Christmas cards that had to be posted to the UK...they are well and truly on their way...I can relax a little now, just one or two to make for friends in Spain.  If I dare say it next year I'm definitely going to start making my cards early!!  OH YES I AM!!  lol

Now to the matter in hand, the cards I said I was going to upload....they're the Christmas cards I made for my two grandsons...I quite like the style of card I used...hope they like them too.

Hopefully will be back sometime during the week with another update. Enjoy what's left of the weekend.  Bye for now!

What A Week...

As the title says.....what a week...I've been "meeting myself coming back" and no mistake! lol   I've being trying for days to find enough time to do an update and finally here I am.  I'm going to have a bit of a "rant" to start off with to let anyone whose interested know what I've been up to...then I'm going to upload some of my "makes" again.

It's been a pretty full week...besides the usual day to day events we've had our Spanish class, a practice session with the British Legion bowling league, a social night bowling with OH's golf society (guess where he is today! lol) and pottery painting where I finally painted another small gecko to compliment the larger one 'lurking' on my front porch wall.  Also last Friday night we went to see a show at the theatre down in the village...there was no charge, the show was subsidised and has been touring around Almeria telling the history of Flamenco dance, it was really good too...we really enjoyed the show.  I would have still gone, even with an entrance fee, I love Flamenco!!

The time is just flying by I think everyone will agree...as I've already mentioned in an earlier posting I still haven't finished my Christmas cards...I promised myself I would be on top of things this year...I'd make them in a constant stream through the year...but as they say "the best laid plans......"  I'm thinking it'll be New Year before I've sorted myself out for Christmas!!  No doubt I'll get there in the end though......hopefully. lol

On a non-craft subject the weather here has turned really 'iffy'...I think winter has caught up with us...the fire's been on in the evenings these past few days. Brrrr!!  We've had the rain, didn't mind that though and really strong winds, didn't like that at all...mind you things weren't too bad outside apart from most of the plants in pots went over plus the garden swing and that is quite heavy....but this time we didn't have to fish anything out of the pool...sometimes its mayhem when we get the really strong winds in the valley!!  lol  Saying all that though we cant really grumble we've had some absolutely great weather since May/June.

I was doing a bit of blog hopping earlier and on CarolRob's blog she asked who had got their Christmas decorations up.....forgot to answer that question when I left my comments.....but no Carol I have not even thought about decorations yet!!  The one thing I do do every year is on the 1st December I start playing my Christmas music...I play it each day...it's my little tradition...can't tell you how many times I've seen my sons roll their eyes when they were younger after hearing them for a few days!! lol

Well my little "rant" as promised is over, I'm going to upload my "makes" and then I'm going to get something to eat...feeling a bit peckish now.

The Christmas fairy card was made with a Robo base card template posted on UKScrappers by SylviaF and the fairy decoupage I used was a sheet I had amongst my stash.  Sorry but I can't remember where I got it...but love the image!   The decoupage fairy on the birthday card is another of my "mysteries"....must have got them before I started noting where I got things from...but I thank whoever the sheets came from!!   The Christmas wishes card was another Robo  (don't you just love him! lol) template posted on UKScrappers by Fuschia....thank you both!  Last but not least..."Baby Gecko"...hope you like!!

I'm now going to go and make my lunch...but may be back later....no groans at the back there!! lol  Bye.

Hello Again...

I wanted to update this earlier today but haven't had a chance...been a funny day I might add...maybe a lot to do with not being up to par and an almost sleepless night...and its surprising what you do when the worlds asleep and you're not...I made umpteen cards, a couple of scrapbook layouts and refurbished my craft-room/3rd bedroom.....all in my head of course!! lol   Hmm...I will have to have a word with the OH about the craft-room.  lol

Before I go and busy myself making the tea I'm going to upload my latest scrapbook lay-out...not the one in my head...lol...the one I made last week at Scrap-booking  Club.  Its my step-granddaughter Laura on her School Prom Night I'm pleased with how its turned out...hope you like it too.

Hopefully will be back shortly.

Hello

I haven't updated my blog for a while...I don't seem to have enough hours in the day at the moment...but I wont be on my own on that score I'm sure of that. lol   I've been spending a lot of my time trying to come to grips with my new toy, "Robo"...am amazed at how many tutorials and videos there are out there for him...but not doing too bad even if I do say so myself...still have a long long way to go yet though.  They say that  "If at first you don't succeed.....give up and open a bottle of white!!   Actually I read that on one of the forums and thought it was quite funny...and apt maybe. lol

To get to the matter in hand now...OH is golfing today so I thought I'd use the time and the peace to catch up on a few things...blog hopping and such...also hoping to do a bit of crafting this afternoon...right now though I'm going to try to upload some of my recent "makes"....hope you like!!

The above cards were made with sheets from Nicole...a very talented lady I have to say...she makes some stunning sheets for us, I love her work.  You'll get to her site here  and I'm certain you'll enjoy looking.

Another card made with one of Shirley Anne's templates you'll find  here...it's well worth spending a little time looking at the templates there I can assure you.....enjoy!!

Have a lovely weekend...may be back later...watch this space! lol

Another First

Well here it is...my first card made with my newly acquired Robo.  The template was a download from UKScrappers and was posted there as a freebie by Shirley Anne.....thank you Shirley Anne.  Its not a brilliant card but I will get better......honest I will !!  lol  Even now I see what I "cudda shudda" done to improve it but as I said I hopefully will get better.....and no doubt I will be posting more cards "Robo" will help me make....."he's" really quite addictive!  Watch this space.

Slideshow

Haven't done any updating for a while so I've been having a little play around today and have added a slide-show of some of the cards I've made since I got into paper crafting.....not sure I like this format now I've done it though...but it will have to do for now as they say.  lol

Hopefully I'll get around to putting some more cards on the blog.....as and when I get them done....have to get cracking on my Christmas cards soon though or I'll be in one mad rush....don't know where the time goes!!

Hope you have a great weekend.

Where Did My Signature Go?

I don't know what happened to my new signature when I published my last post.....oh well here it is now.... will get the hang of this soon...I hope!!  lol

Not Cards This Time But.....

I thought I'd post the photographs of my recent efforts at pottery painting done on the "Ladies Nights" run by a lovely couple David and Debbie at their art shop in Albox.  Its a great night...I really do enjoy going there.  The vase,  jug/vase and dish I painted with for want of a better discription "exploding paints" (cant remember the correct name for them) .....its a great medium to use and does exactly that explodes when its "fired".

I'm posting four photos of the vase mainly to show the different angles.  I'm not great at it.....I just use a bit of  "artistic license".  lol

Will try and get some more cards put on shortly.

P.S.

I forgot to say in my post last night that the word-card was made following instructions by JaneyGrey and with the step-card I used sheets made by Nicole......both very talented ladies!!  As I said both were first attempts at those particular styles.....but I'll be making more of them thats for sure!

Hello I'm back !! lol

Spent a great few days in the UK.....enjoyed it very much.....but am just sorry I didn't get to see everyone or do everything I wanted to.....there's only so many hours in a day isn't there. lol   Saw my grandchildren which was the main and my sister and brother-in-law have come over with us until the 30th.....luckily they managed to get on the same flight back as us.

I brought my long awaited Craft Robo back with me....had it delivered to my son's address.....not had a chance to do anything with it just yet but I've got it and thats all that matters. I also got to visit the new Hobby Craft shop that has opened in the town and of course had "a bit of a spend".....as you do!! lol

I'm posting two "firsts" -  the word book was for my eldest grandson and the step-card for my youngest grandson's birthday.

Will post more cards as and when!!  Enjoy the weekend.

First Post

This is really out of my comfort zone I'll admit but started this blog anyway and cant believe I've actually got it up and running.....well with the help of my new friend Sylvia R I have.....got the patience of a saint she has. lol  Dont know exactly what I'm going to add to it or how often but I'll have a little...or even a big think about it whilst we are over in the UK.  Not long now!!!

I may even dare show some of the cards and other projects I've  been doing.....what I'd do without my crafts doesn't bear thinking about. lol  As you'll see I'm new to this so please bear with me and I hope you will pop in to see what I've been up to from time to time.
