I've Been Busy.....

Hi just a few cards to show you.  Hope you enjoy looking.  It'll be a quick upload and then off today I'm afraid.  Lol

This is the first easel card I've attempted to make.  I used Penny Wessenauer's Sunflower 3D sheet, used my Cuttlebug to cut the matting for the sentiment and a few amber gems. I think its quite a "warm" looking card if you understand my meaning.

The next three cards...or I should say two cards and an ATC were all made with elements from the one 3D sheet...Penny Wessenauer's  'Sapphire Rose' sheet.  I wasn't really being frugal its just that I couldn't find a suitable image for the first card so 'pinched' one of the elements and it was perfect for the card.  Lol

Another one of my "I want to do's".....this time using stitching on a card.  I've been wanting to try a "stitched" card for a while now so for my first attempt at one I used a stitching pattern from Prick and Stitch...just a simple border of embroidery with added beads to help accentuate it.  The base card I cut on my Robo from a template by Lindyloulou (UKScrappers).  The image is one element from the sheet mentioned earlier.  To make the "Happy Birthday" wording stand out more I backed the front of the card with one of the backing papers that compliment the 'Sapphire Rose' sheet.

The second card was made with the decoupage element of the same sheet....using a complimentary backing paper of Penny's...ribbon and a few gems to finish off with.  I really love the image.

Lastly the ATC I made with the mini images on the sheet.  I haven't made an ATC for an age so when I saw the mini images I thought why not give it a go!  Lol   Quite like it myself.  Lol

Well thats it for this visit...sorry it was a bit rushed but will be back soon...hopefully with a bit more time.

Bye for now...take care!!

A First Attempt.......

Today I'm posting a photograph of my first attempt at colouring an image to use on a card.  It's not that good I'll admit but I do hope to get better in time...they do say practice makes perfect don't they.  Lol

The poppy image ( I do love poppies...and butterflies) was a free digi stamp download from, I believe, Pollycrafts...if I'm wrong I apologise to whoever the credit for it belongs to.  Once again I used an element from the template by SylviaF as a mat.  The rest...embellishments etc...was stuff that I had amongst my "crafting goodies".  I did use Stickles on the poppy image but you cant see it in the photograph I'm afraid.

I've spent a bit...well more than a bit of time recently looking on various blogs and have got to say there are some fantastic looking cards out there...and some very talented ladies...quite inspirational...I've picked up a few really useful tips and crafting techniques along the way.  Thank you all.  Watch this space.  Lol

Project for 2010

Firstly I've just got to ask.....where is the time going???  I was so full of good intentions for this year regarding my blog...but unfortunately I tripped at the first hurdle so to speak...I'm afraid it's taken me this long to update!!

I haven't done much in the way of crafting lately...not solely because of time but because I've felt so yuk...have been finding it so difficult to shake this cold or whatever it was I caught before Christmas...but fingers crossed I think I'm getting back to normal now.

I thought for this update I'd show a card and a photograph of my main project for this year on "Ladies Night" at Simply Art.  I've started painting it this early in the year so that if at any time I get to wanting to paint something different I can always leave the project and pick it up again later...I have until Christmas to finish painting it after all.  Lol  There's certainly a lot of work to the set but worth every bit of time and effort because they're so lovely when finished, fired etc.

I love the image on this card...its one of Penny Wessenauer's 3D sheets...I've had the sheet for a while now and thought it just lent itself to be used for an anniversary.  I was pleased with the end result.  It's yet another card to add to my "stash-box".  Lol

Well for now that is it for this update but thank you for stopping by... please pop in again sometime.

Bye for now and take care.

I'm Back Again.....

As I wrote earlier I'd be back to post a couple or so images of my recent (or not so recent)"makes".  I hope you enjoy looking...and I sincerely hope you'll feel free to leave any comment you may have about them.

This card I made for my youngest son's birthday last month....a great sport lover you'll no doubt realise.  I made the card using a template that seemed to be very popular the latter end of last year.

My eldest son's birthday card for last month...both birthdays are within 5 days of each other.  The background was from Greetings Card Factory.

I made these New Year cards with my Robo using a template that Shirley Anne had kindly posted in the freebies section on UKScrappers.  I don't as a rule send New Year cards but I forgot two of the people I have sent Christmas cards to for years.  Couldn't believe I did that...I don't know whether to put it down to a "senior moment" or that I wasn't feeling too good. LOL

This card is for my sister's birthday tomorrow...I sent it in plenty of time or so I thought but as yet she hasn't received it. It looks nicer in the flesh so to speak...hasn't photographed too well though.  The mat was made with Robo using an element from a template by SylviaF that again I got from UKScrappers...the decoupage was from Nicole.  I really do hope the card does arrive because last year's card didn't get to her...was pretty upset about that...but I've had cards not being received more than once or twice since we moved here.  Anyway lets keep fingers crossed!!!

Now for something different!!

Two of my projects from "Ladies Night" at Simply Art.  The Nativity was an ongoing project during last year and I really enjoyed painting it.  This year I'm going to attempt to paint The Three Kings...that's a big project...its the Kings and three camels...and it's beautiful when you see it finished.  One of the ladies painted it last year and it looked absolutely stunning.  The tea-light holder was in fact a Christmas tree, which a few of the ladies painted as Christmas trees...but I thought I'd paint mine in the colours to match the jug/vase and tray for my bathroom that I posted on my blog last October.  Well sometimes you just have to be a little bit different don't you!! LOL

Well that's about it for now unless I remember something later...hope you've enjoyed looking at my blog.  Will be back soon for another update.

Bye for now...take care.

FELIZ AÑO NUEVO

I haven't posted and updated my blog for a while I know but I'm here now to wish you all a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR hope the year is a very happy and healthy one for you!

I hope you had a lovely enjoyable Christmas...seems like an age ago now but ours was a fairly quiet affair...we went out for Christmas lunch with friends...and then back to theirs for a bit of socialising and a "stay-over"...we really enjoyed ourselves.  Made a few phone calls to the UK and on Boxing Day had a video call with our grandsons.  Hopefully we're spending next Christmas and New Year in the UK...Christmas just doesn't have the same feel for me over here I'm afraid.  New Year was much the same...went out for dinner with our friends and had the usual "stay-over"...that is usually the norm because they live a bit away from us.

Haven't had chance to do much crafting lately but have promised myself I will knuckle-down and do more this year...I've made a birthday card for my sister and have a couple of other things I'm going to upload later...got carried away catching up with my blog-hopping this morning and now I have to go but will be back in a short while.

Bye for now.
