Something Just A Little Bit Different..............

Not a card this time for my "main show and tell"......but later in the post I'm going to be showing the "updated" version of Laila's  birthday card that I included in my last post...I've just added a little something more to it and I like it much better........
So to my first upload...it's a lovely heart shaped box made from a cutting file designed by Debbie - Paper Pulse Blog Spot - but I'm afraid my photos don't do it the justice it deserves. Pop over and visit Debbie you'll just love her blog I assure you.
Apart from using black and white card to cut the file I embellished the box with stick-on pearls that I re-coloured with a Promarker and then added a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts and a bead string I had in my stash.
Ooops...had to come back to edit this post because I forgot to state the daisy border was from Birds Cards...just put it down to a senior moment....LOL
Anyways back to the heart shaped box I'm uploading three shots of it so you can see it a bit better.........hope you like........

And lastly the updated photo of Laila's birthday card......the balloon is from Debbie too....

Time for me to say my goodbyes for now..I have to go and set up my new computer.....it has Windows 8 and I'm hoping I can get on with it.  I've heard good and bad things concerning W8...just hope I end up in the good things category....LOL
Hope you have a lovely weekend...thank you for calling by please drop in again......take care...!!

Card...1st Birthday..............

Hi...hope you're having a great weekend...just popped on to upload and show you the card made for my granddaughter's first birthday coming up in three weeks.  I really can't believe a year has gone by already since our lovely Laila was born...it's passed so quickly....!!  I hope you like the card...all that's left for me to do is find a suitable verse for it........

The card base and layers plus teddy bear were from a file by Lyn Simms at Craftsuprint...I cut the name using my Cameo...assembled all parts using 1mm foam pads and embellished the card with small pink stick-on pearls in the centres of the cut-out flowers..googly eyes and a bow for the teddy bear...and I stress the googly eyes are securely attached...not that Laila's mummy is going to let her play with the card....LOL
Well it just leaves me now to thank you for calling by and as always you're welcome to call again.....enjoy whats left of your weekend.....take care..!!

I've Brought My Promarkers Out Of Retirement.........

Here's the first card  made using one of the images I coloured after bringing my Promarkers "out of retirement" last weekend.  As I said in my last post I hadn't done any colouring for an absolute age. I enjoyed it but I need a bit more practice me thinks...lol...so here goes I hope you like...........

The "Lacy Leaves" background is one by Jennifer Wambach at the Silhouette Store...the digital stamp image "Rosalee" by Delicious Doodles was from Instant Card Making Downloads and as mentioned coloured with Promarkers.  I used  a rust coloured card that I thought complimented the piece of leaf designed paper to mat the image, paper and background.  I then just finished the card off with hot-fix nail-heads and a peel off sentiment. I was intending to put a bow on the card but I didn't have the right shade of ribbon for it.....must send off another order.............Hmmmm

Got to go I'm afraid...will be back soon...thank you for calling by........take care...!!

Hope You're Having A Great Weekend.........

Hi I hope you're all having a lovely weekend.....maybe a creative one too...!!  I spent a good part of yesterday cutting files with "Silla" my new favourite friend.....and then of course had to go and make a quick card......I think it would have been awfully rude not to....LOL...!!
I also brought my Promarkers out of retirement last night...I haven't done any colouring for an age...so I sat colouring my images feeling like one happy little bunny...LOL

Back to the card though...I chose a black and white theme...I love that colourway for cards...and used a cutting file from Krewella Kreations......hope you like.....

As I said the background cutting file was from Krewella Kreations...the butterfly was from the Silhouette Online Store and to finish the card I embellished with large and small black stick-on pearls.  I did contemplate putting a small black organza bow above the centre mat but decided it didn't need it.....what do you think? I also purposely left off a sentiment too because as yet I don't know what I'll be using the card for.  Anyways I know you shouldn't blow your own trumpet but I'm really pleased with the way this card turned out...yes I actually like this one...LOL LOL...!!

Well that's me for today I'm afraid...thank you for calling by you're so welcome to call again...take care..!!

Bendy Card 1.............

The 1st February can you believe it.....the time seems to be going by so fast it's scary...!!  This is going to be a lightening visit I'm afraid...just long enough to post the card but I shall be back soon..!!  The card was cut from a file designed by Tina Fitch at Craftuprint, to embellish the card I used a rose and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts, some stick-on pearls and a peel off sentiment. These Bendy cards are quick to make but have a lovely end result I think...so here goes...hope you like....

Well that's me for today as I said it was going to be a lightening visit so until next time I'll thank you for visiting and hope you come by again.....take care...!!

Butterflies and Flowers....................

....Two of my favourite things I might add...love them both...I've used them to feature on the card I'm going to show you today...and I also used my new favourite toy too...lol...I'm finding the Cameo is as good as everyone said it was.   Although I'm still on a learning curve with it I've been reading all the info I came across and have practically gone cross-eyed watching the video tutorials...my oh my there's some extemely talented ladies around.  Wish that I could be...lol

Anyways before I get to boring you all silly I'll get said card uploaded but in all seriousness I'm not too sure about it...I'm not over-fussed with the colours I've used but it's done now so here goes.........

I made the card using a cutting file from Krewella Kreations the butterflies were another free download from...I think...UKScrappers...but I'm sorry I'm not sure...I coloured the butterflies with a Promarker to blend with the centres of the flowers and used stickles on the body but you can't really see it too well.  To finish the card I used a piece of cream cotton lace, ribbon and some stick-on flat backed pearls.  I also used small stick-on pearls in the centres of the flowers plus a Promarker to bring a bit more colour to the centres.  Hmm still not sure...!!

Well I'm sorry this is such a short post today I'll try to do better next time...thank you for calling by I hope you call again.....take care...!!

First Card Of 2013...........

Well I've finally got around to creating a card and not only is it my first card made this year it's also my first card using my Silhouette Cameo...I love it...the Silhouette Cameo  I mean...LOL...!!

Hope everyone's weekend was a  good one...mine was a bit hectic...DH took a couple of plants from the front porch to put in the garden to catch the rain on Saturday and slipped on the wet tile steps and ended up breaking a bone in his foot. Had to get our neighbour to drive to the hospital because I don't drive...never learnt and it's been one major regret of mine...!!  DH is not a happy bunny though as he's had to cancel his golf  for this Thursday...but he's getting over it...!! LOL  Said neighbours took me to the shops this morning too...on their suggestion...we live in a valley and have no public transport so with DH not being able to drive I was so grateful of the help. He has to inject himself everyday though until he has his next appointment in a fortnight...I've never known that before for a "break"...I know my son didn't have to do that when he broke his leg a few years back...but that was in the UK...and things change I suppose....!!

Anyway I'll get to the task on hand and upload my card...hope you like....

 How it was made.................
Background Paper  -  Victorian Classic Patterned Papers - Paper Cellar Ltd.
Frame & Birthday Sentiment  -  Birds Cards.
Silhouette Cameo.
Mats cut using my Cuttlebug and assembled using foam pads.
Ribbon and stick on pearls were from my stash.

That's me for today I'm afraid...thank you for calling by...hope you come visit again soon...take care...!!
