I'm Back Again.....

As I wrote earlier I'd be back to post a couple or so images of my recent (or not so recent)"makes".  I hope you enjoy looking...and I sincerely hope you'll feel free to leave any comment you may have about them.

This card I made for my youngest son's birthday last month....a great sport lover you'll no doubt realise.  I made the card using a template that seemed to be very popular the latter end of last year.

My eldest son's birthday card for last month...both birthdays are within 5 days of each other.  The background was from Greetings Card Factory.

I made these New Year cards with my Robo using a template that Shirley Anne had kindly posted in the freebies section on UKScrappers.  I don't as a rule send New Year cards but I forgot two of the people I have sent Christmas cards to for years.  Couldn't believe I did that...I don't know whether to put it down to a "senior moment" or that I wasn't feeling too good. LOL

This card is for my sister's birthday tomorrow...I sent it in plenty of time or so I thought but as yet she hasn't received it. It looks nicer in the flesh so to speak...hasn't photographed too well though.  The mat was made with Robo using an element from a template by SylviaF that again I got from UKScrappers...the decoupage was from Nicole.  I really do hope the card does arrive because last year's card didn't get to her...was pretty upset about that...but I've had cards not being received more than once or twice since we moved here.  Anyway lets keep fingers crossed!!!

Now for something different!!

Two of my projects from "Ladies Night" at Simply Art.  The Nativity was an ongoing project during last year and I really enjoyed painting it.  This year I'm going to attempt to paint The Three Kings...that's a big project...its the Kings and three camels...and it's beautiful when you see it finished.  One of the ladies painted it last year and it looked absolutely stunning.  The tea-light holder was in fact a Christmas tree, which a few of the ladies painted as Christmas trees...but I thought I'd paint mine in the colours to match the jug/vase and tray for my bathroom that I posted on my blog last October.  Well sometimes you just have to be a little bit different don't you!! LOL

Well that's about it for now unless I remember something later...hope you've enjoyed looking at my blog.  Will be back soon for another update.

Bye for now...take care.

FELIZ AÑO NUEVO

I haven't posted and updated my blog for a while I know but I'm here now to wish you all a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR hope the year is a very happy and healthy one for you!

I hope you had a lovely enjoyable Christmas...seems like an age ago now but ours was a fairly quiet affair...we went out for Christmas lunch with friends...and then back to theirs for a bit of socialising and a "stay-over"...we really enjoyed ourselves.  Made a few phone calls to the UK and on Boxing Day had a video call with our grandsons.  Hopefully we're spending next Christmas and New Year in the UK...Christmas just doesn't have the same feel for me over here I'm afraid.  New Year was much the same...went out for dinner with our friends and had the usual "stay-over"...that is usually the norm because they live a bit away from us.

Haven't had chance to do much crafting lately but have promised myself I will knuckle-down and do more this year...I've made a birthday card for my sister and have a couple of other things I'm going to upload later...got carried away catching up with my blog-hopping this morning and now I have to go but will be back in a short while.

Bye for now.

Just A Quick Update

The song said "It started with a kiss"...well my week "started with a bang"...literally...Monday morning, 6am...it was the loudest clap of thunder I can remember hearing...wondered what on earth was happening!! LOL  Not the  best way to wake up I might add.   All's calmed down now though, the weather's been cold but dry here since...today its really grey out there though.

Had our Spanish lesson Tuesday evening and was informed that the village Mayor had agreed with Luis, our Spanish teacher, to pay for us to have a little Christmas party next week instead of our usual lesson.  Was really surprised he'd agreed to pay for it...it will include Luis' Spanish and English pupils...will be interesting...looking forward to it.

Since Tuesday both myself and OH have had this 'fluey type' cold that's been doing the rounds here...why is it that a simple cold can make you feel so yuk and miserable. LOL  One thing to be grateful for is that we shouldn't be feeling like this over the Christmas festivities!!  Hopefully we wont anyway!!

Will upload a couple of things over the next couple of days.....so until then I'll say bye for now.

Hi

Well the weekend is almost over...feeling a wee bit tired at the minute, had another one of my "cant get to sleep" nights last night...and its certainly true the more you "stress" about it the more you keep yourself awake.  It must be everything that's going around in my head at the minute...I don't know, but I don't like it though...its not one of my favourite situations to be in so to speak!!

We had our normal bowling practice this afternoon and I was as near to rubbish as you can get.  lol   Actually that's a slight exaggeration I must admit...but I cant say I was on top form either...the best part of it was going out for Sunday lunch afterwards...thats the bit I do best!!  lol

I've finally finished the Christmas cards that had to be posted to the UK...they are well and truly on their way...I can relax a little now, just one or two to make for friends in Spain.  If I dare say it next year I'm definitely going to start making my cards early!!  OH YES I AM!!  lol

Now to the matter in hand, the cards I said I was going to upload....they're the Christmas cards I made for my two grandsons...I quite like the style of card I used...hope they like them too.

Hopefully will be back sometime during the week with another update. Enjoy what's left of the weekend.  Bye for now!

What A Week...

As the title says.....what a week...I've been "meeting myself coming back" and no mistake! lol   I've being trying for days to find enough time to do an update and finally here I am.  I'm going to have a bit of a "rant" to start off with to let anyone whose interested know what I've been up to...then I'm going to upload some of my "makes" again.

It's been a pretty full week...besides the usual day to day events we've had our Spanish class, a practice session with the British Legion bowling league, a social night bowling with OH's golf society (guess where he is today! lol) and pottery painting where I finally painted another small gecko to compliment the larger one 'lurking' on my front porch wall.  Also last Friday night we went to see a show at the theatre down in the village...there was no charge, the show was subsidised and has been touring around Almeria telling the history of Flamenco dance, it was really good too...we really enjoyed the show.  I would have still gone, even with an entrance fee, I love Flamenco!!

The time is just flying by I think everyone will agree...as I've already mentioned in an earlier posting I still haven't finished my Christmas cards...I promised myself I would be on top of things this year...I'd make them in a constant stream through the year...but as they say "the best laid plans......"  I'm thinking it'll be New Year before I've sorted myself out for Christmas!!  No doubt I'll get there in the end though......hopefully. lol

On a non-craft subject the weather here has turned really 'iffy'...I think winter has caught up with us...the fire's been on in the evenings these past few days. Brrrr!!  We've had the rain, didn't mind that though and really strong winds, didn't like that at all...mind you things weren't too bad outside apart from most of the plants in pots went over plus the garden swing and that is quite heavy....but this time we didn't have to fish anything out of the pool...sometimes its mayhem when we get the really strong winds in the valley!!  lol  Saying all that though we cant really grumble we've had some absolutely great weather since May/June.

I was doing a bit of blog hopping earlier and on CarolRob's blog she asked who had got their Christmas decorations up.....forgot to answer that question when I left my comments.....but no Carol I have not even thought about decorations yet!!  The one thing I do do every year is on the 1st December I start playing my Christmas music...I play it each day...it's my little tradition...can't tell you how many times I've seen my sons roll their eyes when they were younger after hearing them for a few days!! lol

Well my little "rant" as promised is over, I'm going to upload my "makes" and then I'm going to get something to eat...feeling a bit peckish now.

The Christmas fairy card was made with a Robo base card template posted on UKScrappers by SylviaF and the fairy decoupage I used was a sheet I had amongst my stash.  Sorry but I can't remember where I got it...but love the image!   The decoupage fairy on the birthday card is another of my "mysteries"....must have got them before I started noting where I got things from...but I thank whoever the sheets came from!!   The Christmas wishes card was another Robo  (don't you just love him! lol) template posted on UKScrappers by Fuschia....thank you both!  Last but not least..."Baby Gecko"...hope you like!!

I'm now going to go and make my lunch...but may be back later....no groans at the back there!! lol  Bye.
